UN OCHA visited Zaporizhzhia to discuss further humanitarian cooperation

Representatives from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) met with the City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia to discuss a joint response to the city’s most urgent needs.

Assistance for households affected by missile attacks, social housing solutions, and the reconstruction of shelters were the primary focus of the discussion.

The meeting provided an opportunity to share experiences and prioritize current tasks. One of the most important topics raised was the synchronization of actions among local authorities, humanitarian foundations, and OCHA’s experts to more effectively assist people after missile attacks. This includes improving communication between humanitarian partners, reducing duplication of efforts, and working on better aid distribution.

Long-term needs, such as social housing and capital repairs for municipal shelters, were also discussed. Finally, international partners assured that as the war continues to impact the Zaporizhzhia region, providing sustainable and safe housing solutions remains a key priority for OCHA’s activities here.
