Zaporizhzhia and ACTED sign memorandum to expand humanitarian cooperation

Zaporizhzhia has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the international organisation ACTED, marking an important step toward strengthening long-term partnership.

ACTED has been operating in Ukraine since 2015. Today, the organisation employs more than 500 specialists and has extensive experience in humanitarian aid, recovery, disaster risk reduction, and support for socially vulnerable groups.

ACTED is already implementing several programmes in Zaporizhzhia, including household support, assistance with minor and medium-scale reconstruction, ensuring access to basic services, and cooperation with municipal utilities and social institutions.

The newly signed memorandum marks a shift from ad hoc assistance to a more systematic approach. It opens up opportunities to expand humanitarian programs in the city, support vulnerable groups, strengthen the capacity of utilities, shelters, and social facilities, and launch new sustainability and recovery projects tailored to the city’s specific security conditions.

ACTED has officially confirmed its readiness to scale up its work in Zaporizhzhia. For us, this is a sign of trust; for the community, it brings additional resources for resilience, survival, and development during wartime.
