Zaporizhia leads transparency growth among 100 Ukrainian cities

The City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia is proud to announce a remarkable achievement: according to the 2024 Transparency Ranking of Ukraine’s 100 largest cities, Zaporizhzhia has demonstrated the most significant progress of all participating municipalities.

Zaporizhzhia climbed 31 positions in just one year — from 43rd to 12th place — and raised its transparency score from 36.7% to an impressive 63%. This marks the most dynamic improvement recorded in the study.

The City Council performed particularly well in the following key areas:

• Response to wartime challenges – 83%
• Public engagement – 73.3%

These results reflect the coordinated efforts of local authorities, the City Development Institute, and partner organizations committed to enhancing digital openness, transparent decision-making, and participatory opportunities.

For us, transparency is more than just access to information — it’s about building trust, fostering unity, and upholding responsibility to our citizens. We see this milestone as a strong foundation for the continued transformation of local governance.

Our next goal is to join the Top 10 most transparent communities in Ukraine. We remain committed to expanding open data access, improving digital services, strengthening public communication, and ensuring the accountability of municipal authorities.
