Coordinating support for residents affected by December shelling

The City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia continues to coordinate partners’ efforts to support residents affected by the shelling on 20 and 24 December. Through collective action, city services and humanitarian organizations provide humanitarian, psychological, legal, and other essential assistance.

Humanitarian Aid and Repairs:

  • Proliska Zaporizhzhia: Provided 244 families with construction materials, including OSB boards, film, and tarpaulin. Additionally, partners conducted 28 consultations regarding government support programs and the process for registering damaged property through Diia system.
  • Volunteer Rapid Response Team: Comprised of five organizations (Crazy People, Salus, Happy Child, Narodna Dopomoha, and the Coordination Humanitarian Centre), this team conserved damaged apartments by installing 40 OSB boards. They repaired 42 apartment windows and 8 windows in common areas.
  • Narodna Dopomoha: Carried out light repairs at the sites of the shelling.
  • ARTAK: Monitored the situation, assisted with evacuating victims, and helped repair the homes of elderly residents.

Hot Meals and Drinks:

  • BELUGA UA: Organized hot meals, drinks, sweets, and water for affected residents, distributing 78 burgers, 67 hot meals, 96 cups of coffee, and 63 cups of tea.
  • Happy Kids NGO: Provided hot lunches for volunteers, service workers, and victims.

Psychological and Legal Assistance:

  • Proliska Zaporizhzhia: Delivered individual psychological support to 69 victims, including crisis counselling. Special attention was given to families with children, who also received advice regarding their social status.
  • Right to Protection: Offered legal assistance to 14 individuals and social support to 7 others.
  • SONCE UA: Conducted a needs assessment of the affected population and provided psychological support to 32 individuals.
