Solidarity in crisis: collaborative efforts ensure critical aid for Zaporizhzhia
Three more Points of Invincibility have received 30 kW generators, thanks to the Fundacja Via Stella (Poland). These devices will soon be handed over to schools and social institutions.
With the front line just 50 kilometers from the city outskirts and dozens of air alarms every day, one cannot forget about the ongoing war and all the risks it brings to the civilian population. This is why the Zaporizhzhia City Council continues to deploy emergency points, known as Points of Invincibility, at schools and other public facilities.
The recent arrival of three generators is a result of the collective efforts of the Fundacja Via Stella, which purchased and donated the devices, the Fundacja Igora Tracza, which helped deliver them, and the Ukrainian Consulate in Gdansk, which also provided support for the humanitarian campaign.
Points of Invincibility are the first places where citizens can receive aid in case of shelling and blackouts, find temporary shelter, access heating and electricity, and receive other emergency assistance. The network of such places started to appear in Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages since the first autumn of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Because Zaporizhzhia is a big city with more than 600,000 residents, there is still a need for additional Points of Invincibility to ensure access for them in every city district.
Igor Tracz and his team, who delivered the generators, are regular visitors to Ukraine with their humanitarian missions. For example, this time, they brought relief supplies for IDP families living near Lviv and food for animals in the care of Kyiv volunteers. By the way, 500 kg of animal food will go to the municipal enterprise that organizes sterilization and vaccination of stray animals in Zaporizhzhia and cooperates closely with local animal care volunteers.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this humanitarian initiative: Fundacja Via Stella and Mr. Robert Rusiecki, Fundacja Igora Tracza, and the Ukrainian Consulate in Gdansk.
