Zaporizhzhia receives the heartwarming gift from sister city Belfort

Today, the city of Zaporizhzhia received humanitarian aid from its sister city in France.

Thanks to the generous efforts of the people of Belfort, 520 kg of donations were collected, including essential products for vulnerable families and food for abandoned animals. The humanitarian goods were transported by ‘Partir Offrir,’ a partner association of the Belfort municipality.

This is yet another example of how our partner cities extend a helping hand during these hardest times.

Even more poignantly, this time, not only humanitarian supplies were delivered, but also dozens of postcards from the children of Belfort. Their colorful drawings and sincere words hold immense power, warming our hearts and giving us strength.

“We send you courage and think about you,” “We send you rays of sunshine” — these messages uplift our spirits and instill faith in a better future.

Belfort and Zaporizhzhia have been twinned since 1967. It is the second European municipality to enter into a partnership memorandum with Zaporizhzhia officially. The two cities have maintained friendly relations for decades and fruitfully cooperated in education and culture.
