Utilities in Zaporizhzhia to receive new equipment for enhanced public services

Today, the City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia welcomed partners who provide substantial support to our city. We were especially pleased to meet Olena Chernikova, Environmental Compliance Director at Chemonics International, and Andrii Levchenko, Activity Implementation Manager for USAID’s Democratic Governance East Activity (DG East) project.

The visit was part of the Improving Municipal Services grant initiative, supported by DG East in Zaporizhzhia. This initiative aims to enhance the city’s capacity to provide essential public services to citizens, including the most vulnerable groups.

During their visit, the partners assessed the conditions in which the municipal companies operate and provide services. They thoroughly inspected all the enterprises slated to receive new equipment and machinery from DG East to ensure they meet environmental and sanitary standards.

The grant will cover the purchase of IT equipment, various tools, and machinery, including hand tools, centrifugal pumps, and welding machines for the city’s utilities. This equipment will significantly improve the quality of municipal services, positively impacting the well-being of all Zaporizhzhia residents.

We are grateful to our partners from DG East for their support and significant contribution to the development of our city’s infrastructure. Together, we are working to create better lives for the people of Zaporizhzhia.
