Gratulujemy narodowi Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej w dniu Święta Konstytucji

Today, Poland celebrates the anniversary of the Constitution of the 3rd May. Since its adoption in 1791 and through all the historical events, this document has been a powerful symbol of freedom and justice for the Polish people.

This desire for independence, freedom and justice unites Ukrainians and Polish people. No wonder the Republic of Poland is one of Ukraine’s major supporters and advocates in these horrible days of the Russian assault against our country. Ukrainians will never forget all the help we receive from our true friends.

On this national holiday for Polish people, we would like to thank our partners in Poland.

Although the city of Zaporizhzhia does not have twin cities in Poland yet, we have strong relationships with Polish organizations and institutions. Here are just a few of our partners.

For example, Fundacja Solidarności Międzynarodowej provides regular assistance for IDPs and other people affected by the war: generators, heating devices, clothes and household items. In 2022, the Fund also donated life-saving medical equipment for hospitals in Zaporizhzhia, specifically ventilators, defibrillators, ultrasound devices, and cardiac monitors.

Polish friends help us to strengthen critical city services. In winter, Zaporizhzhia received a fully equipped ambulance from partners in Gdansk and a bus from the Wroclaw transport company. The aid was delivered thanks to the support of Urząd Marszałkowski Województwa Pomorskiego, Wojewódzki Szpital Specjalistyczny im J. Korczaka w Słupsku, and MPK Wrocław.

One more humanitarian partner is Fundacja Razem Damy Radę, which donated refrigeration equipment for Zaporizhzhia’s medical facilities last year.
