Recovery & Development

Our goal is not only to strengthen community resilience during the war but also to promote urban development, support the postwar recovery of Zaporizhzhia, and foster social cohesion.

  • Contribute to the development of strategies, programs, and other planning documents for community recovery and growth.
  • Design impactful projects and seek suitable partners for their implementation.
  • Collaborate with NGOs, experts, and urbanists to create solutions that make Zaporizhzhia more livable and successful.
  • Engage the public in open dialogue on key issues of urban development.

The current Zaporizhzhia City Strategy was developed in 2017 and outlines a ten-year planning horizon. However, due to the war, much of it has become outdated.

In 2024, the Zaporizhzhia City Council joined the Ro3kvit Urban Coalition project to develop a new Vision for Zaporizhzhia 2030, with their expert support. This initiative marks the first attempt to shape the city’s future during and after the war.

With active community participation, the Ro3kvit team:

  • Conducted research and a needs assessment to identify key short- and long-term priorities for the city.
  • Formulated guiding principles and strategic goals to serve as a conceptual framework for future change.
  • Developed a set of priority projects—practical steps aligned with the new Vision. They address the city’s most pressing challenges and contribute to long-term urban sustainability.
