German twin cities provided new community transport for Zaporizhzhia (video)

Vehicles for the municipal enterprise “ELUASH” and the city’s social services have arrived in Zaporizhzhia from the twin cities of Magdeburg and Oberhausen. This is another contribution from international partners to support the city’s utilities. These vehicles will be used for repair and construction work and for delivering services to the population.

Today, two city utilities received the keys to the new vehicles. In particular, the Mercedes Sprinter will join the fleet of the Zaporizhzhia Territorial Centre for Social Services. The Centre’s specialists will use it in their daily work with various groups of people who receive social services and care.

“…The car will help in the work of rehabilitation facilities for children with disabilities, units that provide home care services and a unit for the integration of homeless people, and others. The territorial centre has its transport fleet, but we have never had such a powerful vehicle,” explains Mr. Yurii Shvets from the city’s Department of Social Protection of the Population.

The municipal enterprise “ELUASH” has acquired a mini-loader, which will be used for road maintenance, repairs, and construction work. The vehicle contains everything necessary for this purpose, as confirmed by the company.

“It will be used to maintain roads, clean sidewalks and bus stops in winter, as well as for repair and construction work. This is a versatile vehicle that will serve us almost non-stop,” says Mr. Dmytro Parkhomenko, head of the municipal enterprise.

This is the fourth mini-loader in the transport fleet of “ELUASH”. However, to fully provide services in all city districts, the company requires three more similar vehicles. Earlier, international partners provided two excavators, which have already proven their usefulness during summer construction work and debris removal after rocket strikes. Currently, the city council is in negotiations with partners to obtain more machinery for utilities.

“These are large companies, donors and NGOs. We have already received some equipment for city’s utilities. For example, excavators and mini loaders from companies that support Ukraine,” confirms Mr. Anatolii Kurtiev, secretary of the City Council.

Another equipment delivery is expected soon. This assistance will be used to support the functioning of the city and address the daily needs of its citizens.
