Ukrainian Action provides protective gear for municipal workers who help people at the site of shelling
On the morning of May 8, due to a large-scale shelling, Russian missiles struck various public locations in Zaporizhzhia, including a recreational park, a garage cooperative, and infrastructure areas. A new attack presents us with a challenge that we accept with full responsibility.
It is vitally important that all those working at the site of the shelling are properly protected. This is why social workers and representatives of district administrations, who assist affected people by providing counseling, relief supplies, and guidance, need protective gear.
We are extremely grateful to our partners at Ukrainian Action, who provided helmets for municipal workers. This charitable organization supports Ukraine and Ukrainians by providing humanitarian and medical aid, as well as supporting local reconstruction and healthcare projects.
It is also crucial to note that protective gear for municipal workers is essential in every frontline city. In Zaporizhzhia, specialists from the city rescue and emergency services, medics, social workers, and many others work at the site immediately after a tragedy. They put their lives at risk because of the high possibility of another attack as they assist residents and help mitigate the consequences of shelling.
We urge potential partners and benefactors to pay attention to this critical need. The City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia is always ready to provide additional information and do everything possible on our part to deliver much-needed aid to Zaporizhzhia.
