Polish partners support municipal emergency and rescue service in Zaporizhzhia

The charitable organization Fundacja Via Stella has once again provided humanitarian assistance to Zaporizhzhia.

This time, the organization donated a Volkswagen Transporter Kombi vehicle, first aid supplies, and training equipment. The vehicle has already been added to the fleet of the Municipal Special Emergency Rescue Service and will soon be put into operation. For rescuers, such assistance means a greater capacity to respond quickly to calls and reach emergency sites with all necessary equipment. This is especially important during mass shelling of the city, which often results in destruction and simultaneous emergencies in multiple locations.

The Training Center of the Municipal Emergency Rescue Service has also undergone significant upgrades, receiving more than ten types of first aid trainers and simulators. The new equipment will enhance the quality of training for rescuers, municipal workers, and volunteers, as it is designed to develop specific practical skills — from cardiopulmonary resuscitation to providing assistance for various types of injuries.

Fundacja Via Stella was founded by representatives of American and Polish credit unions to help people who found themselves in need as a result of unforeseen events. Based in Sopot, the organization cooperates with a number of frontline communities in Ukraine, providing generators for critical infrastructure, vehicles for hospitals, and other humanitarian assistance. Since 2023, Fundacja Via Stella has also been supporting Zaporizhzhia: the charity has donated eight generators for social services, hospitals, and Points of Invincibility, as well as two ambulances — one for a city hospital and another for a community in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia sincerely thanks its partners at Fundacja Via Stella and all those who support the foundation’s activities for their solidarity, trust, attention to the needs of frontline communities, and high-quality coordination of humanitarian aid delivery to the city.
