Rotary Club delivers ambulance fleet for Zaporizhzhia and other frontline communities

Zaporizhzhia City Hospital No. 9 has received an ambulance from the Rotary Club Zaporizhzhia Khortytsia. This is one of the four vehicles donated by benefactors from Berheim.

The vehicles were previously used by the German fire brigade but remain in good condition. Despite more than a day of waiting at customs, the volunteers of Rotary Club Zaporizhzhia-Khortytsia finally delivered the cars to where they were long awaited. Three more vehicles were handed over to Pavlivska and Komyshuvaska communities, and another hospital in Zaporizhzhia.

These ambulances are much needed, especially since they are used to provide medical care for both military and civilians, including IDPs.

“First of all, we are grateful to the German partners for their support. We would also like to thank Zaporizhzhia’s Rotary Club for their initiative and active cooperation with international partners,” says Anatolii Kurtiev, secretary of the City Council of Zaporizhzhia.

“It is crucial that the burden of attracting aid does not fall solely on the local budget, and Zaporizhzhia can function as a powerful fortress in our region,” adds Oleh Buriak from Zaporizhzhia district military administration.

This is the third ambulance received by City Hospital No. 9 from humanitarian partners during the full-scale war. And it is the most equipped one according to specialists. The vehicle is built on a Mercedes-Benz wheelbase and features the latest medical technology.

“This is extremely important help. We are always grateful for any assistance, especially for such modern equipment. This vehicle will be in great demand and we will continue working to attract more vital assistance for our city and region,” says Kyrylo Nerianov, director of City Hospital No. 9.
