Public utility receives a cargo-passenger van from the city of Gdansk
Zaporizhzhia, among several other Ukrainian municipalities, received a valuable gift from Polish cities. A brand new car designed for transporting passengers and cargo will go to the municipal enterprise “Vodokanal”, which provides drinking water and wastewater services. It will help utility workers be mobile and quickly perform necessary repairs and maintenance.
The vehicle was provided thanks to the project “Cars for communal services of Ukraine” (Samochody dla służb komunalnych Ukrainy). In total, Fundacja Gdańska helped to deliver eight cars for Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Rivne, Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Borodianka. The handover ceremony took place in Kryvyi Rih, where officials of local governments met with the Polish delegation — representatives of the Association of Polish Cities, the Union of Polish Metropolises, and the Union of the Baltic Cities.
During the meeting, the parties signed agreements on further activities to deepen cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian cities.
It is not the first time that Fundacja Gdańska provided aid for Zaporizhzhia. Earlier this year, the Foundation donated equipment for the city’s Points of Invincibility – large pneumatic tents, power generators, camping beds and other furniture, and heaters.
