Hanover volunteers deliver modern ambulance and medical supplies to Zaporizhzhia

Volunteers from Hanover, Germany, have delivered a modern ambulance to Zaporizhzhia City Hospital No. 8. Alongside the vehicle, they provided essential humanitarian aid, including hygiene products, diapers, and medical supplies.

The transfer was coordinated by Maria, a representative of the Hanover community and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of St. Volodymyr’s parish, together with Hane Dirk, an anesthetist. Partial financial support for the initiative was provided by the community of Dissen in Lower Saxony.

The Caritas Charitable Foundation also played a crucial role in facilitating the delivery. Director Andriy Bukhvak and Bishop Maksym Ryabukha of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church helped establish communication with the German volunteers, significantly expediting the process.

This is the seventh ambulance Maria has personally delivered to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. After the official handover of the vehicle, German partners met with the hospital’s medical staff to better understand their current needs for medicines and equipment. This discussion aims to foster continued humanitarian support and raise awareness within the German community about the ongoing challenges in Ukraine.

The City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia actively supported communication with partners and assisted at every stage of the transfer. We are confident that our joint efforts will greatly benefit the city.

We express our sincere gratitude to Ms. Maria and Mr. Hane Dirk for their invaluable contribution to medical facilities in Zaporizhzhia.
