Memorandum signed with the charitable foundation that helps IDPs from Berdiansk
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the city of Zaporizhzhia has hosted thousands of people from temporarily occupied territories and areas of active hostilities.
Today, more than 150,000 internally displaced persons are registered in Zaporizhzhia. A lot of them came from Berdiansk, a beautiful city on the Sea of Azov, currently under Russian military occupation.
Last year, volunteers from Berdiansk who fled from the occupation to Zaporizhzhia established a charitable foundation, Berdiantsi – Own For Their Own. Since then, the team has worked hard to help internally displaced persons from Berdiansk and other people in need. In addition, the foundation also provided aid for residents of Zaporizhzhiam whose homes were damaged because of Russian missile attacks.
Zaporizhzhia city council greatly appreciates the cooperation with all volunteers, charitable foundations and other organizations that work to help citizens in these difficult times.
