OCHA Ukraine visits the shelling site while having a monitoring visit to Zaporizhzhia

Representatives of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA Ukraine) arrived in Zaporizhzhia city with a monitoring mission.

Accompanied by the deputy mayor Viktor Gordynskyi, director of the City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia Viktoriia Agientaieva and the head of the Department of Social Protection of the Population Tetiana Krupodera, they visited the multi-storey apartment block that had been hit by a rocket attack on March 22.

Our partners saw with their own eyes the consequences of missile terror against the civilian population. Caritas Zaporizhzhia was also present at the meeting – these days, specialists and volunteers of the charitable foundation continue to provide aid to citizens at the place of the tragedy.

The meeting was productive for both parties. The topical question to discuss was whether Zaporizhzhia had enough resources to help the victims of the attack and how international partners could help the city to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression.

In addition, the city officials informed the OCHA members about the emergency response algorithm developed by the Council to immediately help people in tragic situations like this.
