Foreign experts to explore the best solutions for the post-war reconstruction of Zaporizhzhia
The future reconstruction, its opportunities, and challenges have become the main subjects of discussions between city officials, including specialists from the City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia, and foreign urbanists, Martin Duplantier (France) and Fulco Treffers (Netherlands).
The city’s guests assure that they want to contribute their knowledge, experience, and networks to the post-war rebuilding of Zaporizhzhia.
Fulco Treffers, in particular, is a co-founder of the Ro3kvit urban coalition for Ukraine, which brings together more than eighty Ukrainian and foreign architects, urbanists, researchers, designers, and ecologists. The Ro3kvit team, which develops new, future-oriented solutions for Ukrainian cities, has a particular interest in working with Zaporizhzhia. According to Mr. Treffers, this southern city has the potential to become the architectural capital of Ukraine.
Additionally, the partners discussed the prospects of Zaporizhzhia’s participation in the “Sustainable Cities” project implemented by GIZ GmbH and aimed at promoting urban development and reconstruction of cities.
