Humanitarian Aid

Our institution oversees the operation of the city’s humanitarian hub and coordinates joint efforts with partners during emergencies.

Since April 2023, the City Development Institute has coordinated the work of the city’s humanitarian hub.

  • Receive humanitarian cargo and aid shipments
  • Assist with logistics
  • Prepare documentation for acceptance and transfer
  • Enter data into the Unified State Register of Humanitarian Aid
  • Ensure accurate inventory in the warehouse
  • Distribute aid based on the decisions of the City’s Coordination Center

Community needs shift rapidly during wartime. The City Development Institute has established internal procedures for processing humanitarian requests. These allow us to:

  • Regularly update and clarify needs and requests
  • Engage current humanitarian partners and reach out to new ones
  • Address issues related to the delivery of aid
  • Ensure assistance is provided where it is most needed
  • Inform the public about humanitarian cooperation
  • Deliver timely reports

Our priority is to support key municipal sectors that provide essential services to residents and maintain city life. These include utility services, hospitals, schools, shelters for internally displaced persons (IDPs), and social services (including assistance for vulnerable groups).

Reports on the types and volumes of humanitarian aid are published on our website.

The Zaporizhzhia City Council follows a clear protocol for emergency response. This ensures effective coordination between municipal services, the regional administration, rescue teams, and police. Specialists from the City Council, along with psychologists and representatives from NGOs and charities, are present at emergency sites to assist affected residents.

The City Development Institute coordinates joint efforts with partners to ensure efficient crisis response.

  • Coordinate with local organizations and donors
  • Help equip crisis buses (mobile aid points)
  • Distribute aid from the humanitarian hub
  • Attract additional resources for emergency assistance
  • Raise public awareness about local organizations and other partners
