Municipal utility company boosts fleet with new dump truck from German partners
Thanks to our international partners, the municipal enterprise ELUASH has added a new dump truck to its transport fleet. The vehicle will be useful for many sorts of public works, specifically cleaning up the city, removing litter, loading firewood, and clearing snow.
The dump truck was provided as part of the technical assistance program for Ukrainian cities implemented by GIZ GmbH in cooperation with German municipalities.
“We are grateful to our partners, communities, and the mayors of Oberhausen and Magdeburg because they consistently help us. This is not the first vehicle we have received. We hope that this vehicle will come in handy and help make our city a little better and tidier. Perhaps it will be useful for emergency works too,” said Rehina Kharchenko, secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council.
“This vehicle is equipped for unloading and loading various types of cargo, including over short distances, without the use of labor. Loaded cargo can be unloaded using hydraulics. The vehicle is very reliable, and we believe it will ensure the sustainable work of our enterprise for many years,” said Ivan Stashevskyi from the municipal company ELUASH.
Additionally, Zaporizhzhia has already received four vehicles from the same program in 2023. They are now successfully operating at the utility company ELUASH and the City Territorial Center for Social Services, helping municipal workers do their everyday jobs and provide better public services. The assistance was made possible thanks to our twinning relations with Oberhausen and Magdeburg, as well as the ongoing support of Lord Mayors Daniel Schranz and Simone Borris, who are true friends of our city.
As before, the City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia coordinated the delivery of vehicles to Ukraine. We would like to express our special gratitude to the specialists of the ELUASH company for their assistance in transportation.
We sincerely thank Oberhausen, Magdeburg, and GIZ GmbH for their invaluable support.
