Oberhausen donates generator and medical supplies to Zaporizhzhia

Oberhausen, Germany, has recently donated a high-power generator to the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, along with a shipment of medicines for local hospitals. This latest contribution is another testament to the enduring partnership between the two sister cities.

Next year, Zaporizhzhia and Oberhausen will mark 40 years of cooperation. Over the decades, the cities have exchanged delegations, established school partnerships, and implemented a range of social initiatives.

Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Oberhausen has continued to actively support Zaporizhzhia—from providing humanitarian aid and organizing training camps for young athletes to engaging in municipal cooperation projects.

The newly donated generator will help ensure uninterrupted operations at Zaporizhzhia’s cultural institutions, enabling them to continue hosting events and sustaining cultural life despite energy disruptions. The medical supplies will replenish hospital stocks, allowing them to maintain the delivery of essential healthcare services.

Support from Oberhausen remains vital for Zaporizhzhia. The city expresses its sincere gratitude for this solidarity and assistance, which contributes to strengthening local infrastructure and improving quality of life for residents.
