City Development Institute joins the Forum in Kyiv to strengthen partnerships for the recovery of Zaporizhzhia

On January 23, the City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia participated in the crucial forum “Zaporizhzhia Region 2025: Resilience and Development,” held in Kyiv. The event brought together over 100 participants, including international partners, local authorities, diplomatic missions, and civil society organizations.

The forum served as a vital platform for collaboration, with representatives discussing strategies to address the challenges facing the Zaporizhzhia region while fostering its sustainable development.

Viktoriia Agientaieva, the Director of the City Development Institute, also joined the event. For our institution, the forum has great significance as it is another step in strengthening partnerships and securing resources to rebuild and advance the city of Zaporizhzhia.

The key issues discussed at the forum included:

  • Energy Sustainability: Including plans to decentralize energy systems and increase alternative energy generation capacity to 100 MW by 2025.
  • Support for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs): Initiatives to provide housing, financial aid, and employment opportunities to ensure a dignified quality of life.
  • Investments in Education and Youth: Construction of underground schools, modernization of sports facilities, establishment of youth centers, and creation of innovative kitchen factories.
  • Veterans’ Support: Comprehensive programs for the social reintegration of war veterans, including psychological, medical, and economic assistance.

The City Development Institute expresses gratitude to all partners supporting the Zaporizhzhia region. Our joint efforts help territorial communities, including the city of Zaporizhzhia, not only to overcome challenges but also to continue moving forward toward strategic goals.

Since 2022, the City Development Institute of Zaporizhzhia, as an institution of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, has proved to be a reliable partner for foreign and international donors that support Ukraine in its resilience, recovery, and development. The Institute is actively working with city departments and NGOs to develop impactful projects focused on urban infrastructure reconstruction, social program implementation, and the integration of vulnerable groups.
