Life-saving donation from partners in Magdeburg (video)
Zaporizhzhia City Clinical Hospital No. 5 has received a new ambulance, kindly donated by our sister city of Magdeburg. The vehicle, from the fleet of the Malteser Hilfsdienst Magdeburg, is ready for use in Ukraine and meets the highest medical standards, as confirmed by German experts.
The vehicle is equipped with modern equipment and electronics, including open seats, folding seats for medics and patients, and specialized stretchers. It will significantly enhance medical services, allowing doctors to provide high-quality and prompt care to patients even before they arrive at the hospital.
The doctors are thrilled about this addition to the medical fleet, especially since they previously sent their own ambulance to support the Ukrainian army at the frontline. Now, a new car means that more emergency calls can be handled simultaneously, and response times will be reduced — a critical factor in saving patients’ health and lives.
“This new vehicle will significantly improve medical care to residents of the city and other patients. Several medical facilities in Zaporizhzhia are currently being merged as part of the cluster districts initiative. This ambulance will enable timely medical transportation between these and other institutions in Zaporizhzhia,” said Petro Ryzhenko, acting director of City Hospital No 5.
“The city has provided many vehicles to the army, but the citizens also need transportation and help, including home care. That is why the Malteser Hilfsdienst Magdeburg gave us this ambulance. I am confident that this will not be the last assistance from the city of Magdeburg. We look forward to further cooperation. Our partners send their regards to everyone in Zaporizhzhia. They hope that this ambulance will save many lives here,” said Viktoriia Agientaieva, director of the City Development Institute of Zaprozhzhia.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners from Magdeburg for their sincere support and assistance.
