Magdeburg donates supplies for emergency and rescue services in Zaporizhzhia

Zaporizhzhia received vital humanitarian aid from its sister city, Magdeburg. German firefighters and rescuers collected over 1,700 pieces of equipment specifically for their colleagues in our city.

This gesture is especially meaningful, as it supports emergency workers who assist our residents during the most challenging times. The aid includes essential gear for rescue services: protective clothing, personal safety equipment, tools, and machinery.

Among the most valuable donations are an electric generator, halogen floodlights, a chainsaw, a hammer drill, grinders, fire extinguishers, hook ladders, and other equipment. All of the aid will be distributed among the city’s emergency and rescue services. A motorboat has also been donated to the Zaporizhzhia Rescue and Diving Service, along with a Ford Transit vehicle.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the people of Magdeburg for their trust and their consistently timely and valuable support. Special appreciation goes to Mayor of Magdeburg, Simone Borris, and Frank Mehr, Head of the Office for Fire Protection, Rescue Services, and Civil Protection.

Our sincere gratitude also goes to all the firefighters and rescuers in Magdeburg for their professional solidarity and involvement in this vital initiative.

This support is more than just equipment — it is a testament to the strong partnership between our cities. Thank you for your steadfast support and your contribution to Zaporizhzhia’s resilience.
