Delegation from Zaporizhzhia visits Birmingham to strengthen municipal cooperation

As part of the REBUILD OF UKRAINE 2025 trade mission, representatives of the Zaporizhzhia City Council paid an official visit to Zaporizhzhia’s twin city, Birmingham.

During their working trip, official representatives from Zaporizhzhia had the opportunity to present the interests of their community and hold talks with British partners on expanding municipal and humanitarian cooperation.

The meeting was held at Birmingham City Hall with the participation of deputy mayors and other municipal officials.

Birmingham and Zaporizhzhia have maintained twin city relations since 1973. During the visit, both sides emphasized the importance of renewing, strengthening, and developing their long-standing partnership. Priority areas for cooperation include healthcare, education, youth support, and joint cultural initiatives.

Zaporizhzhia remains open to new formats of engagement and deeper collaboration with Birmingham, especially in light of the war and ongoing reconstruction efforts.
